Using the documents, complete the following:

1. Read and summarize docs
2. Group the docs
3. Write 5 POVS out in paragraph form.  Use below as a model:
"Document 1 discusses the ....... (summary).  This document should be looked at carefully because the author is ...... and therefore his view would be....." (analysis)

***This is a sample you can rephrase it, but I want to see five attempts at showing POV.  Write it out on a separate sheet of paper!

4. Explain 2 missing voices.

Cold War assignment--Due April 20th


Cold War Hot Spots/Key Events
From the end of World War II to the early 1990s, the Cold War dominated world affairs.  The struggle between the Soviet Union and the United States, communism and democracy, spurred a series of actions and reactions on both sides.  Listed below are important events associated with the Cold War.  You will create an historical atlas of the Cold War detailing these events and the role they played in the Cold War.
Requirements:
·       The atlas must have a cover and a back page.
·       The atlas has to have four pages.  Each page has a map on front and explanations on the back.
·       On the map show the major Cold War events that occurred in the world during that decade.  You need a map for the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
·       On the back of the map should be the explanation of the events shown on the front on the map.
This assignment is due on Monday, April 20th .
DO NOT CUT and PASTE your explanations!  I will know and you will receive a zero.  There are sources other than the internet! Use your textbook and review book too!

Russia: Reaction and Reform


Russia: Reaction and Reform

 

You will be exploring the The Empire That Was Russia  a website featuring the work of the photographer Sergei Mikhailovich Prokudin-Gorskii the photographer to the Russian Czar Nicholas II at the turn of the 20th century. Between 1909 and 1912 and again in 1915, he completed surveys of eleven regions of the empire, traveling in a specially equipped railroad car provided by the Ministry of Transportation.

Look through each of the different exhibits. Complete the following in a Google Document and share it with me at esepar@bmchsd.org at the end of the period.

1.  What can you conclude about he diverisity of the empire?

2.  Where do you see evidence of this diversity on the architecture exhibit?

3.  What is the impact of ruling such a diverse empire?

4.  What type of work were people doing in the empire?

5.  What conclusions can you draw about the ways in people made their living?

6.  Pick two pictures.  Cut and paste them in to your document.  Under each, explain why you chose the picture and what the photograph reveals about life in Russia at the turn of the century.
